Guesthouses and Bungalows

Sunbathing in the late afternoon on Kantiang Beach

Guesthouses and Bungalows fall at the backpacker or super low-budget end of the accommodation available in Kantiang Bay. Rooms tend to be very basic with particularly basic bathroom facilities. Most rooms do have en-suite bathrooms and private balconies.

Some resorts also offer low-budget options – you can expect these cheaper rooms to offer the same no-frills environment as the guesthouses and bungalows listed here.

Plenty of visitors to Kantiang Bay have a fantastic time staying in the cheaper guesthouses and are very happy to save money by staying somewhere basic, however it’s important to have realistic expectations of what budget accommodation in Thailand is like. We have tried to provide true-to-life photos to give you a realistic idea of what to expect.

The kind of service provided at the cheaper places to stay can sometimes fall short of people’s expectations. This can often be due to communication problems and language barriers. A smile and some good humour can go a long way.

The bottom line is that if you’re paying less than 800 THB per night for a fan room, or 1,500 THB for an air-con room – it’s probably going to be fairly basic. If you’re put off by sharing your accommodation with a certain amount of the local wildlife, the bamboo bungalows in this section may not be the best option for you.
