Panoramic view of Kantiang Bay from Top View Resort

Top View Resort is a low-key, family-run bungalow resort. Whilst the accommodation itself is fairly basic, you’ll find some of the most spectacular, panoramic views on the island.

Top View Resort has a total of fourteen rooms with a choice of fan or air-con and double or twin rooms. Each bungalow has an en-suite bathroom, cold water shower and balcony with fabulous, panoramic views that span Ko Rok, Ka Haa and Ko Phi Phi.

Even if you don’t stay here, it’s worth the hike up to the top of the cliff to drink a cold beer and catch the sun setting across the bay. The restaurant and bar area are one and the same, comprising several salas (or small bamboo structures open at the sides) dotted around the terrace, with low tables and cushions to lounge on. In high season, sunset is often accompanied by a chilled-out, acoustic set by the Why Not Band – a perfect complement to your early evening’s relaxation.

It doesn’t matter which seat you choose, the restaurant and bar at Top View have the ultimate view of Kantiang Bay and the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea

[editor’s review:]
PLUS – Top Views!! – Some of the best views on the island are to be had here and if you’re looking for basic, cheap accommodation with air-con, it doesn’t get much cheaper. Staff are very charming and friendly although often not that helpful in terms of advice on things to do, places to go etc. Mosquitoes are virtually non-existent thanks to the lovely, cool, hill-top breeze.

MINUS – The hike up to the resort is not for everyone and the rooms lack charm and a personal touch. Plumbing and maintenance seem to have been left to the monkeys who are also very keen on stealing anything you leave out on your balcony. You have been warned 🙂

Accommodation Overview for Top View Resort

Concrete Bungalow

Nine out of the fourteen bungalows are concrete and are either air-conditioned or fan cooled. All have en-suite bathrooms with cold water shower and western toilet and you can book either double or twin beds. All have a small private balcony and are set in tropical gardens cut into the cliff-side.

Bamboo Bungalow

If we’re honest, the bamboo bungalows are a bit rickety and run down but that said, if you don’t mind going super-basic with no frills then they are just the ticket. Offering double bed, en-suite bathroom with cold water shower and a small private balcony, you will certainly get that back to nature feel if you stay in one of these.

  1. This is very nice resort, loved the view on the Kantiang Bay from the bungalows. The owners are nice.
The BBQ fish they prepare in the restaurant are excellent.

  2. This place was AWESOME! I had a far better time here than anywhere else I went in Thailand. Not over crowded with tourists (unlike Phi Phi) & had an easy going relaxed atmosphere that made me regret I found it at the end of my holiday.
A 5 minute walk to Kantiang beach, which has longtail boat cruises out to 4 surrounding Islands for snorkelling/ swimming, or the Why Not Bar on the beach for a fun nights relaxing over a drink with their in house band playing top quality songs.
I hired a motorbike off them & explored the Island, 5-10 minutes ride south I found the perfect isolated beach (robinsons) that I had entirely to myself!.. A rare find in Thailand! Top View was the best!
