With Kantiang Bay as your base, you are in a perfect spot to explore the islands around Ko Lanta. Its easy to book a day trip for snorkelling or sight seeing on a number of nearby islands or you can make your way either up or down the South Andaman Coast by boat, hopping from one island to the next.
Day trips from Ko Lanta, include the Four Island Tour which will take you through the stunning karst landscape in the islands to the south of Ko Lanta. This tour is well received among visitors and makes a stop at the must-see Emerald Cave on Ko Muk. The popular snorkelling and diving sites at Ko Rok offer crystal clear turquoise water and an impressive array of marine life. If you’re curious about visiting Ko Phi Phi but don’t have time to actually stay there than its possible to book a day trip to these famous islands. Most tours will go by speedboat and make an obligatory stop at Maya Bay.

If you’re finished with your stay on Ko Lanta and interested in carrying around the islands then you can book a long tail or speedboat to sail you to your next destination. Ko Lipe is a popular choice further south from Ko Lanta but for the true island hopping experience, stop off at the quiet islands of Ko Ngai or Ko Muk (or both!) on your way south. These islands offer basic resort accommodation with quiet beaches to spend a lazy afternoon.
