Alama Restaurant, Cafe and Bar is a coffee shop, cafe and restaurant all in one. You can’t miss the ultra chic-looking Alama on the left hand side as you enter Kantiang Bay Village from the north of the island.
The cafe and restaurant on the ground floor serve a vast selection of moderately priced, very tasty Thai food, along with a few Western alternatives such as pizza, pasta and burgers. In the evenings they also have a delicious seafood BBQ. But you should remember to save a little bit of room for desert as they have great home-made ice-cream too.
Upstairs in Alama is a lounge bar where you can treat yourself to a cold beer or three after a hard day on the beach! The bar area is casual-chic which means it has the typical Thai-style relaxed vibe with cushions on the floor, but with the bonus of the trendy setting and in one area, the luxury of air conditioning. You can also eat up here if you don’t mind sitting cross-legged at your low table.
TIP – The decking outside Alama is a great place for a spot of people watching with your morning coffee. In the evening, try the Seafood BBQ. Alama Restaurant, Cafe and Bar ticks all boxes – you wouldn’t go wrong booking a friend’s birthday dinner here and having a noisy, chatty evening with friends. But equally, a romantic meal for two would be just as successful. Come for a special occasion or just because you want to.
