Scubafish New Season - Ja Ru Pat

Great start to the season 2011-2012 - Ja Ru Pat's first trip

The new 2011-2012 dive season in Kantiang Bay got off to a great start with Scubafish‘s first trip of the season to Ko Haa going out on their newly painted and updated boat ‘Ja Ru Pat‘.

The marine-life at Ko Haa put on a fantastic show, with even the snorkelers managing to catch a glimpse of the notoriously shy Black-Tipped Reef Sharks and pretty much everyone onboard was able to make their acquaintance with the resident Hawksbill Turtles and the infamous ‘Porkie‘ – the ‘not-so-shy’ Porcupine Pufferfish who lives in Ko Haa Lagoon!

All in all, a fantastic day was had by all, and the divers at Scubafish are looking forward to plenty more great days out over the coming season.

New Dive Boat for Scubafish – Ja Ru Pat

MV Ja Ru Pat

The latest addition to the Scubafish fleet of Dive Boats - MV Ja Ru Pat

Scubafish Dive Centre welcomed a new dive boat into Kantiang Bay this week – MV Ja Ru Pat, the latest addition to the Scubafish fleet – offering luxurious comfort and space.

MV Ja Ru Pat departs directly from the beach in Kantiang Bay each day (weather permitting) with a short transfer, by longtail boat, from the beach.

Once onboard the boat, the dive host provides a briefing covering onboard-facilities, safety procedures and an introduction to their friendly dive staff. A tempting breakfast of chocolate croissants is then served up with access to unlimited Iced Coffees and Fruit Juices.

In line with their commitment to customer service, all the guest dive equipment gets pre-loaded onboard, so no-more struggling down the beach with heavy bags and tanks – Scubafish consider your holiday time precious and they want to to enjoy every part of your day with them!

Traveling in comfort and cruising along comfortably at 12 knots, you have time to get acquainted with the other guests onboard the boat. Dive groups are carefully selected according to each diver’s level of experience and air consumption, so that everyone has a memorable and relaxed underwater experience.

Upper Deck:

A shaded open air area on the top deck offers long cushioned benches and tables. There is a cooler stacked full of cold drinks to suit every taste (iced-coffees, fruit juicess, coke, sprite and water – all free of charge – just help yourself whenever you like) and there are facilities for making hot drinks, and even a toaster! There is also a dedicated medical room – equipped with a bed, oxygen, and first aid.

Lower Deck

The lower deck is comprised of a spacious saloon-style lounge, the dive deck, bathrooms and galley.
The lounge salon is a dedicated dry area, and offers a break from the heat if you require it, thanks to electric fans! Furnished with 8 booth-style cushioned seats and tables, this is an ideal space for planning and logging your dives, or even catching up on some PADI Coursework.

Upper & Lower Decks

There are numerous electric power points allowing you to plug in your laptop and start editing those underwater images, and for your entertainment, enjoyment (and perhaps even PADI education) they further boast a TV and DVD player.

Between the lounge and the dive deck are 2 spacious bathrooms, each with a western style flush toilet and basin, and a freshwater shower.

The Dive Deck consists of 55 tank racks, so every diver has plenty of space and comfort for gearing up and performing pre-dive buddy checks. There is also a large rinse tank on the dive deck for safe storage and rinsing of underwater camera equipment.

Upon surfacing each diver and snorkeler is presented with a towel by the crew, and the dive team takes care of changing your equipment whilst you catch up on all the marine life you just saw, over a delicious buffet style lunch served on the upper deck.

Designed for the utmost stability and comfort at sea, Ja Ru Pat’s highly experienced crew take great pride in exceptional service, levels of maintenance and safety. This top class dive boat, complete with all those little extras, offers a mixed schedule of cruises to the best dive sites around Ko Lanta.
